Nizar Hospital, Valancherry, Malappuram

Dr. N M Nizar Mohammed is attached to the Nizar Hospital in Valanchery, Kerala. This is a 200-bed multi-super speciality Hospital that has been providing yeoman services to the sick and the suffering. It started out as a small dispensary in 1962, and over the years has grown to its present size. Nizar Hospital’s mission statement is: "A Healing Mission with a Human Touch", and it treats human beings with diseases, rather than just diseases in isolation. Nizar Hospital continues to maintain high standards of medical ethics and moral values, despite rampant commercialisation all around. The hospital owes its growth and current stature to the salutary services of the late Dr. N K Mohammed and Dr. N Jamal.



In 2013, Nizar Hospital was judged the Best Hospital in the 100-200 Beds category, for the World Environment Day Awards instituted by the Government of Kerala. Dr. N M Nizar Mohammed has himself won several awards, such as the Pro Life Award, the Kerala Pollution Control Board Award and the Seva Ratan Award, for his contribution to social issues.
